 posted by Dukenukem on | under DAN Gradings2012 Association Shitoryu Karatedo Nouvelle Caledonie Dan Gradings Our sister club in Noumea, recently had three of its members graded to Nidan and Shodan, by the French Karate Association. France carries out all Dan gradings on a national basis in front of a panel of the style's high Dan grades, and this year, Alicia Bezier, who home stayed with Sensei Bob and his wife for four months, sat for Nidan, while two First Kyu students, Laura Wantar and Kim Faucher, sat for Shodan. All of these three members impressed Sensei Bob when he was in Noumea in May, with their dedication and drive, and it was no surprise to be informed that all three had passed their gradings. Alicia has matured into an excellent Karateka, and is shortly traveling to France to begin university. I know, she will be sadly missed by our sister club. Laura and Kim are a little younger, but are well on the way to becoming excellent Karateka themselves. Both of them impressed Sensei Bob while he was in Noumea, particularly with their bunkai and self defence applications (Laura is particularly mean!), and Kim features on the You Tube clip from New Caledonia TV who covered Bob's visit. Congratulations to all three, very well done.
