posted by Dukenukem on | under Club News2014 Northland Secondary Schools Sports Awards Sensei Bob, along with one of his young students woke up this morning feeling a little better after a successful evening at the NSSSA dinner at Kensington Stadium. Olivia Crum who last year acheived her Jnr Shodan last night won the Female Karate code award in her first year at high school. This goes with her school elite colours for medalling at a National Championship. All in all a good year for Olivia. ![]() Olivia Crum with her award ![]() Karatedo Shitokai has done very well over the years in Karate code awards at the NSSS awards with: Travis Butler 3 times, Matt Burns 2 times, Renee & Alice Keatley once each Kayla Neho 3 times Nicky Roberts 5 times and Zara Wech 2 times. Add to this several overall Sportsman and sportswoman titles: Travis Butler 2002 Kayla Neho 2004 Nicky Roberts 2010 Zara Wech 2011 These 4 have all gone on to be variously National Champions, Oceania Champions and Commonwealth Champions, with Travis, Kayla and Nicky all having represented New Zealand at Junior and Senior World Championships.
