2016 Auckland Open Championships - 21st August 2016

Auckland Open Karate Championships was held on 21st August 2016 at the Auckland Netball Centre, Stonefields, Auckland.

Karatedo Shitokai had two students head down to Auckland to compete in the Auckland Championships with London-Rose Gould and Yvette Hendrikse competing.

London-Rose in 6-7 years Kata and Kumite and Yvette in the 14-15 years girls Kata and Kumite.

Both girls performed brilliantly, London-Rose getting Bronze in Kata then getting Gold in Kumite.  She continues her winning ways in fighting since the New Zealand National Champs back in July.

Yvette also got a Bronze in Kata, missing the finals in a close decision.  Yvette continues to maintain a very high standard of Kata, she is nearly a year younger than her rivals.

In Kumite Yvette got back into the groove of scoring points and finished with a Gold. Although not a big team at the Champs a very good result, the girls did our club proud.

Well done.
