2016 Manawatu Championships - 30th May 2016
 

   

Karatedo Shitokai New Zealand - Palmerston North recently attended the Manawatu Champs. This is a local event which is attended by the four Okinawa karate styles in the region, as well as many other clubs, local and visiting. This year, there was just over 100 competitors with many 1st time students.

2016 Northland Open - 15th May 2016
 

   
The 2016 Northland Open was held in Whangarei on the 15th May.  This year our club donated a Bob Dalton Memorial Cup to go to the winning club on the day.
 
It was awarded to the club with the most gold medals on the day, which this year went to Miyagikan Karate Do Gojuryu, so well done to them.

Bob Dalton 1936 - 2015
 

   
To become a karateka, or master of karate, requires a lifetime of devotion to the discipline of martial arts.
 
Today marks one year since the passing of Sensei Bob and although it has been a hard year adjusting with the club and other activities that Bob was involved in, we are making headway.

2015 Shitokai New Zealand DAN Grading - Saturday 7th December 2015
 

   
This year DAN grading’s, held in Whangarei Honbu on the 7th November 2015 was touched with both joy and remembrance, this being the first DAN grading since the passing of Sensei Bob Dalton earlier this year and also being the largest grading so far in Karatedo Shitokai history. It’s been a very busy couple of weeks for Karatedo Shitokai New Zealand.
