2018 Manawatu Championships - 17th July 2018
 

   
Well another year and another round for the Manawatu Champs. Much quieter for Karatedo Shitokai this year but still represented. This year it got even bigger with more clubs traveling to Palmerston North and a healthy 155 competing.
 
For many it is their first time on the mat and for some divisions, it required 4 katas to make it into the final rounds. These competitions allow many young students ...

2017 Manawatu Championships - 2nd July 2017
 

   

Karatedo Shitokai New Zealand - Palmerston North participated in the local Manawatu Champs, this being the 25th year that Gregor has run this event in the Manawatu. This local event is well represented by the four Okinawa karate styles in the region, as well as many other clubs, local and visiting. 2013 Manawatu Championship - Sunday 17th November 2013


Karatedo Shitokai New Zealand - Palmerston North recently attended the Manawatu Champs. The event attracts many of the local clubs and it is often the first time many of the younger students get a chance at competing in kata and kumite. In all, there were about 90 competitors.

2012 Manawatu Championship  - Sunday 25th November 2012
 
The Manawatu Champs recently held in Palmerston North, provided another success for Karatedo Shitokai with Kieran Nuku winning the Male Cadet Premier Kata division, taking straight flags for the three kata's starting with Seienchin, Nipaipo and finally Koskunsho.

2011 Manawatu Championships, 13th November

The Palmerston North School of Karate Do hosted one of it largest local events in the Manawatu and attracted over 118 competitors covering over 30 events.  This year Dave Nuku and Kieran Nuku competed in the Kata division with Dave taking 3rd for Senior Mens Premier Open and Kieran taking second for the 13 - 17 year Male Premier. 2010 Manawatu Championships - 21 November 2010
 
 
The Manawatu Champs was held in Palmerston North on the 21 November, organised by Gregor McLachlan of Wado Kai Palmerston North School of karate. Attendance was good with 90 competitors from seven clubs, four from the main stream styles in Palmerston North and the other three from Foxton, Levin and Wellington.

2009 Manawatu Championships 14th June 2009
 
The Manawatu Champs (organised by Gregor McLaclan, Wadokai) completed successfully, being the second one attended by Karate Do Shitokai New Zealand -  Palmerston North. The event was well attended by most of the local clubs with about 85 competitors taking part with about an equal number of supporters. A key focus were the younger members  mixing it up in both Kata and Kumite.
