2017 New Zealand Nationals and Secondary School Championships - 15th July 2017

The 16th of July 2017 was the day of the New Zealand National Championships and The New Zealand Secondary Schools Competitions, which were held in Wellington.

Yvette Hendrikse, recently returned back home from a spell in Nouvelle Caledonie was our only senior competing this year.

2016 Auckland Open Championships - 21st August 2016

Auckland Open Karate Championships was held on 21st August 2016 at the Auckland Netball Centre, Stonefields, Auckland.

Karatedo Shitokai had two students head down to Auckland to compete in the Auckland Championships with London-Rose Gould and Yvette Hendrikse competing.

London-Rose in 6-7 years Kata and Kumite and Yvette in the 14-15 years girls Kata and Kumite.

2016 New Zealand Nationals and Secondary School Championships - 16th July 2016

On the 16th and 17th July 2016 the National Championships and The New Zealand Secondary Schools Competitions were held in Wellington.

Shitokai New Zealand had three competitors Olivia Crum and Yvette Hendrikse in The National Champs and The Secondary Schools plus London-Rose Gould in just The National Champs.

2015 New Zealand Nationals and Secondary School Championships 11th July 2015

The 2015 New Zealand Nationals had around 150 competitors this year and Karate Do Shitokai had three of their members (Nicky Roberts, Evette and Olivier) competing in kata divisions.

At the Auckland Open on 7^th April, Honbu dojo took three competitors, Yvette Hendrickse, Olivia Crum and Harrison Higgins. This year Shitokai New Zealand took 3 competitors to the New Zealand Open, because of the costs involved and there was no development section. We have several young members with great potential, but to send them to compete against premier players would only increase cost with very little gain. it is far better for them to compete closer to home to gain experience.
